DS18_2014/15: Architecture, Energy, Matter 2 – OPEN Exhibition

The University of Westminster OPEN Show this year took place in two venues – for three days in the studios of level four of the Marylebone building prior to studio renovations, and for three weeks on the entrance level podium. Our approach to the upstairs space was to view it as an event space. A large banner of Graaff Reinet formed the backdrop to an open floor area  flanked by a wall of simply hung drawings and a video playing on the floor. This was a compilation of videos made by students during the year, to a sound rack of South African music. South African wine was served on opening night.

On the podium level, each MArch studio was allocated two 4,500 long wall surfaces held in a lattice frame, in an installation system designed and built by MArch students. Each DS18 student displayed one A2 image + models.
